We don’t believe food should play it safe. The Smoked Taco was born from one simple idea: what if slow-smoked BBQ met the boldness of Mexican street food? The answer wasn’t just good—it was unforgettable.

Brisket wrapped in a tortilla. Ribs topped with salsa. Pulled pork with a squeeze of lime. These weren’t accidents—they were experiments that proved two worlds of flavor could collide and create something brand-new.

From the start, we weren’t just serving food. We were building a movement—a community of people who wanted their meals big, smoky, and a little rebellious.

how it all fired up

The Smokehouse Days
Our founders cut their teeth (and smoked a whole lotta meat) working the pits at a local smokehouse—learning the craft, the patience, and the art of low & slow.
BBQ Meets Mex
Armed with a Southern Pride Smoker, we started making tacos loaded with smoked meats for staff, friends, and family. One bite and the idea was already smoldering.
The Truck That Started It All
We bought a food truck, fired up the smoker, and officially gave our dream a name: The Smoked Taco.
Sellout Debut
Our very first taco service out of the truck—and we sold out. That’s when we knew this wasn’t just another taco joint in the making.
First Brick & Mortar
We traded truck tires for tile floors and opened our first restaurant location—bringing the smoke and spice indoors.
Growing the Smoke
Our second location fired up, and we realized this thing had legs (and brisket).
Six and Sizzlin’
Our sixth location opened its doors, proving the hunger for BBQ-Mex fusion was real—and unstoppable.
Best of State
We took home the Best of State Award, making it official: Utah can’t get enough of The Smoked Taco
